Trailer with 400 firearms stolen from Henderson casino parking lot – KTNV Las Vegas

HENDERSON (KTNV) – LATEST:  13 Action News spoke with a retired Las Vegas police sergeant about the general problem of stolen firearms in Nevada.

Retired Sgt. Richard Strader spent more than 20 years on the job with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

“My children grew up with me having guns,” said Sgt. Strader, “they were always locked in a safe.”

Strader says we can all keep our community safer by securing our weapons.

“You should never ever leave your weapon in a car unsecured ever,” said Sgt. Strader.

This advice coming after Henderson police say 400 firearms were stolen from a Henderson casino parking lot Tuesday.

“It concerns me that now we have 400 guns on the street,” said Sgt. Strader.

Henderson police have not released details concerning how the weapons were stolen.  

At this time, investigators have not given a description of the truck or trailer.

ORIGINAL:  A trailer containing 400 firearms was stolen from a Henderson casino parking lot Tuesday.

Around noon, the trailer and a truck were stolen from the Fiesta Henderson hotel-casino parking lot.

Henderson police would not release any other details.
