Rep. Victoria Neave had blood alcohol level almost twice legal limit after Dallas DWI arrest – Dallas News

Neave, an attorney, had blood-shot eyes, her breath smelled strongly of alcohol and she refused to voluntarily provide a blood sample and perform a field sobriety test, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

When an officer went to speak to her, Neave told him, “I love you, and I will fight for you,” and that she was “invoking her Fifth Amendment rights.”

When her attorney arrived at the scene in Old East Dallas, Neave told him with slurred speech that she “didn’t hit anything,” the affidavit stated.

She was taken to a hospital to have her blood drawn and later transported to the Dallas County Jail.

Neave was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. She has no prior DWI convictions.
