Pizza Hut trials delivering alcohol with orders – The Independent

Pizza Hut has announced it’s going to start serving alcohol with its pizza.

In a move that will likely excite takeaway-lovers, the restaurant chain has begun trialling the service in Phoenix, Arizona, offering a variety of beers with your pizza order.

Wine options are going to be launched on the menu in January 2018.

Stacy Lynn Bourgeois, director of brand marketing at Pizza Hut, told CNNMoney about the company’s enthusiasm for the new scheme.

“We’re excited to offer the convenience of beer and wine delivered to a customer’s home,” she said.

For now, customers in Phoenix will be able to place their pizza orders with a selection of Bud Light, Budweiser, Shock Top and Arizona-made Kilt Lifter beers.

Pizza Hut isn’t the first company to serve alcoholic beverages with its pizza.

A number of restaurants in the US have already taken advantage of the novel idea, including competitors Papa John’s International, BJ’s Restaurants & Brewhouse and DoorDash

However, Americans aren’t the only ones who get to enjoy a brew with a slice of cheesy deliciousness.

The Red Pizza Company, based in Bristol, gives customers the option to buy any medium pizza with one side and a bottle of wine for a combined price of £16.99.

They also offer a range of lagers, beers and ciders on their menu, which is ideal for any Bristolians who fancy a chilled night in.

The Independent has contacted Pizza Hut UK to find out whether the service is going to be offered in the UK in future.
