NBA news: Klay Thompson posts sentimental message as LA Lakers trade talk continues – Express.co.uk

Thompson, the Golden State Warriors shooting guard, has been linked with a sensational move to team up with LeBron James at the LA Lakers.

But, speaking to the Bay Area News Group he committed his future to the Warriors.

“I’ve said it many times before: I would like to be a Warrior for life,” he said.

“Contract negotiations are way down the line.

“But I think we all have the same interest. I would love to be here for the rest of my career.”

And last night he posted a message on Instagram alongside a collection of images.

“I love sports I love basketball I love competing (especially against my brothers),” read the caption.

The images showed him shooting hoops with older brother Mychel Thompson, a friend and his British Bulldog Rocco.

Thompson has won back-to-back NBA Championships with the Warriors and seems determined to stick around for more success rather than jumping ship to the Lakers.

But Hall of Famer Paul Pierce thinks he should at least consider a move should the offer come.

“He definitely should be their top target, he’s the perfect compliment to LeBron,” Pierce said on The Jump.

“It’s more of a realistic chance that they can get two of them.

“They can get Kawhi and Klay but Klay fits with LeBron more so than anybody.

“There’s going to be a time whee Klay says ‘I have enough championships, it’s my time to get the money and if I get the money and be in L.A. … I already have three of four championships at the time and be maxed out…’

“I don’t think he will get maxed out in Golden State.”

The Lakers acquired James this summer and are already planning bid additions for next year with Thompson and Kawhi
