Montana brewers bring best beer to Billings – KTVQ Billings News

BILLINGS –

The promoter of Montana Brews and BBQ’s says brewers in the state make as good a beer as anyone in the country.

The 7th annual event at MetraPark’s Chiesa Plaza features 34 microbreweries with 80 different beers, five barbecue trucks and 10 other food trucks.

All the beers are from Montana and served from a keg for freshness and purity.

This is the biggest brew fest in the Montana, according to show promoter Mark Hedin.

“It would take you a long time to visit these breweries if you go on what they call beer-cations,” Hedin said.  “This is a very well attended event. But we’re not geniuses to let you know that. Anytime there’s really good food, there’s really good beer and it’s ice cold, you typically get a lot of people that like to come out to it.”

Hedin says he has 8,000 pounds of ice to make sure the beer stays cold.

Down Time will play classic rock, country and reggae.
