Feds, state officials go after vaping products – Jackson Clarion Ledger

After the Food and Drug Administration’s recent surprise raid of the San Francisco headquarters of a major supplier of e-cigarette products, the agency announced a more-aggressive push to go after companies that market and sell e-cigarettes to minors. The move is part of a nationwide response to what’s being called an epidemic of e-cigarette use among teens.

FDA investigators showed up unannounced at JUUL’s headquarters at the end of September, seizing more than 1,000 pages of documents that they hope will shed some light on the company’s sales and marketing practices toward underage users. JUUL announced it had already turned over more than 50,000 pages of documents to the FDA, and is cooperating with investigators. Other top e-cigarette companies, including Vuse, Blu, MarkTen XL and Logic also received FDA warnings.
