Battery Park wins award for Casino Arena/Amphitheater of the Year – KCAU 9

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sioux City is celebrating the win of award for providing entertainment.

The Battery Park won the 2018 Casino Arena/Amphitheater of the Year Award from the Global Gaming Expo, G2E. 

The Casino Entertainment Awards are awards that honor artists, executives and venues in the casino entertainment industry. 

other nominees for the award included the Event Center at Choctaw Casino Durant in Durant, Oklahoma, and Sandbar Stage at Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In 2015, Battery Park was selected as a top-three finalist for the award.

Jim Franke, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City’s general manager, said that they have continued to see growth in the since Battery Park opened in 2015. 

“The venue itself has gotten rave reviews from not only our guests but also the touring artists. We are very proud of what we have built in Battery Park,” said Franke.

Battery Park was named in honor of Sioux City’s historic Battery Building. Battery Park had more than 25,000 guests over an eight-concert series in 2015. They say that they had more than 109,000 guests during summer months since then. This last summer, Battery Park had 11 acts on their stage, including Post Malone, Kesha, Pit Bull, and Old Dominion
