Relay For Life poker run to benefit American Cancer Society – Bluefield Daily Telegraph

BLUEFIELD — Mercer County Relay For Life will hold a poker run today which will start at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. 

Mercer County Relay For Life Chairman Sherri Cox said the poker run is to raise money for the upcoming Mercer County Relay For Life event.

“All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society,” Cox said in a press release. “The cost is $15 per rider/hand and $5 per passenger. Check in time is at 8 a.m. and will start in the parking lot at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. The first bike out is scheduled to leave at 10 a.m. There will be three designated stops on the 70 plus mile route including, Cole Harley-Davidson, Swampfox Motorsports, and Hillbilly Cycle Sales. The route will end back at the hospital with a cook-out for the participants.”

Cox said Relay For Life t-shirts will be sold, 50/50 drawings and prizes for the highest and lowest hand will be awarded.

“If you don’t have a bike and would like to participate, that’s no problem,” Cox said. “You can follow along in your vehicle.”
