Police left a ‘friendly’ note asking a homeowner to get in touch after confiscating 72 cannabis plants from their house.

Greater Manchester Police took the unusual step after forcing their way into the home in Worsley, Salford, and finding no-one was in.

After then discovering a large number of cannabis plants they decided to leave the modified note, which was subsequently tweeted by the force’s official account for Salford West.

‘We need to talk. Please contact GMP on 101 and ask for Wigan Div[ision],’ the note said.

‘Unfortunately you were not at home… and have no cannabis left. Many thanks.’

The note was left on Saturday but it’s not yet known whether the homeowner replied.

We’ve kicked in a door in Worsley, got 72 cannabis plants, nobody home. Left a note.

GMP, keeping you in the loop. http://t.co/TJnd541yDj—
