Police find pipe bomb, guns and drugs in home of Franklin County … – STLtoday.com

FRANKLIN COUNTY • A man was arrested after police found a pipe bomb along with guns and suspected drugs in his home here Thursday. 

Jared Combs, 32, was charged with unlawful possession of an explosive weapon and possession of a controlled substance. 

Combs lived in the 5900 block of Calvey Creek Road in unincorporated Franklin County, police said. Sheriff’s deputies and investigators with Multi-County Violent Crimes and Narcotics Unit searched his home Thursday. 

They found two pipe bombs, two guns and a small amount of a substance believed to be methamphetamine in the house. 

The Missouri Highway Patrol Bomb Squad confirmed that one of the pipe bombs was capable of exploding. 

Combs has a past criminal history including felony charges, according to the sheriff’s office. Court records said he pleaded guilty in 2011 to a driving while intoxicated charge. 

Combs was being held with bail set at $30,000.
