CARROLL TWP. — Police are investigating two incidents of students bringing prohibited items to a Perry County elementary school.

State Police at Newport said the first incident occurred on Tuesday at Carroll Elementary School, Carroll Township, when a boy, no age reported, was found in possession of a small pocket knife.

The knife was recovered by staff members without incident and the investigation remains open.

The second incident, the following day, occurred at 10:13 a.m. when a 7-year-old student was found in possession of two rounds of ammunition.

Police said the student did not have any firearms.

Police continue to investigate.
