Parolee in Winnebago County Jail on firearm charge – Rockford Register Star

ROCKFORD — Brandon McMahon, 20, a parolee, is in the Winnebago County Jail, charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm for allegedly shooting at a vehicle March 20 in the 1800 block of Woodruff Avenue.

David Hopkins, deputy chief of the Rockford Police Department, said McMahon got into an argument with a group of people and shot at a vehicle that was leaving. He was charged on Saturday.

McMahon also is suspected of shooting a handgun at a residence in the 1700 block of Cumberland Street earlier on March 20 after going to the residence of a man he was involved in an argument with on Auburn Street, Hopkins said.

McMahon was sentenced to three years in prison in 2010 after convictions in Winnebago County on charges that included armed robbery (with no firearm) and possession of a firearm by a gang member, according to court records.
