NFL Week 9 preview: Cardinals-Cowboys highlights Sunday’s undercard – Boston Globe

The Patriots-Broncos game is Sunday’s main event, but the rest of the schedule is not too shabby. Here’s a look.

Arizona at Dallas

Time: 1 p.m. Line: Cowboys by 3½.

Records: Cardinals 6-1 (5-2 vs. spread), Cowboys 6-2 (5-3 vs. spread).

Comments: How soon after Arizona’s first points does Jerry Jones make it to the sideline to tell Jason Garrett what to do? . . . Cardinals’ 6-1 start is best since 1974, when they were 7-0 . . . Cowboys QB Tony Romo is a game-time decision (yes, it’s Jerry’s decision) . . . Player to watch: Arizona’s Andre Ellington has 428 scrimmage yards in his past four games.

Philadelphia at Houston

Time: 1 p.m. Line: Eagles by 2.

Records: Eagles 5-2 (4-3 vs. spread), Texans 4-4 (5-3 vs. spread).

Comments: Hopefully, Eagles QB Nick Foles is acting like a pro this week or Houston terror J.J. Watt is going to sack him and scold him (OK, he’s going to sack him regardless) . . . It’s a homecoming for Philly’s leading tackler, DeMeco Ryans (39), who played six seasons in Houston . . . Eagles’ Riley Cooper has 5 TD receptions in his last seven vs. AFC . . . Texans’ DeAndre Hopkins has 11 catches for 203 yards in last two games . . . Player to watch: Houston’s Arian Foster has 31 100-yard rushing games, tied for …read more
