Gun dealer guilty of supplying illegal arms and ammunition linked to over 100 crimes – The Sun

A FIREARMS dealer has been found guilty of supplying illegal guns and ammo linked to more than 100 crimes.

Operating out of his garage Paul Edmunds, 66, imported huge quantities of antique guns from the US.

He then crafted home-made bullets to bring the supposedly obsolete guns back into use.

The weapons were supplied to Mohinder Surdhar, who sold them on to the criminal underworld.

They have been directly linked to crimes across nine police ­forces, including two murders in
Birmingham, one in London and an attempt to down a police helicopter during the 2011 riots.

Edmunds was snared when experts noticed a trend of pre-war pistols being used in shootings.

A court heard “telltale” markings on bullets found at crime scenes linked them to tools used by the pensioner.

In a police interview, he said he “didn’t give a s***” who he sold to.

Edmunds, of Hardwicke, Gloucs, was found guilty of ­conspiracy to supply firearms and ammunition, and smuggling banned handguns into the UK at Birmingham crown court.
