Two students from Dodson Middle School were taken to the hospital Thursday after several students were found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Los Angeles Unified School District spokeswoman Shannon Harber said the two students were taken to the hospital out of “an abundance of caution.”
The students arrived on the Rancho Palos Verdes campus under the influence, and administrators reacted quickly to the handful of students involved, Harber said. It’s not clear exactly how many students were under the influence.
Harber couldn’t say whether the students will be disciplined, but said the district is investigating the incident, and added that the LAUSD takes such issues “very seriously.”
A message was sent to parents letting them know about the incident, but school will continue to operate as normal, Harber said.
