Colo. aerospace industry employs close to 170K –


KUSA – Monday has been designated Colorado Aerospace Day.

The Colorado House and Senate are expected to pass a resolution today recognizing the contributions the aerospace industry has made within the state which include lots of scientific discoveries, new technology and adding lots of jobs.

The Colorado Aerospace industry employs more private sector aerospace workers per capita than any other state and is home to the third largest space economy in the country, adding $8.7 billion into the state in 2011 (the most current figures available), and employing close to 170,000 people in space-related jobs.
