Brewers teammates to develop special-edition Miller Park beer – Madison.com

Miller Park brew taps will see a new, special-edition beer later this summer crafted in part by three current players with the Milwaukee Brewers.

First baseman Eric Thames, reliever Oliver Drake and pitcher Corey Knebel will meet with MillerCoors’ brewers Monday to take the first steps in creating a new brew for the stadium.

Thames, who is batting his first season with the Brewers after playing the last three seasons in Korea, came to Milwaukee excited for the beer culture.

“I came to Milwaukee before I signed, checked it out, and after an hour, I knew it was where I wanted to be. I love the Midwest. I love the hospitality of people. And Milwaukee has great beer,” Thames told USA Today. “I love beer.”

Knebel himself is no stranger to the brewing process. He has been home brewing beer as a hobby for more than two years.

Brewers and beer fans will have just a few chances to sample the beer as it will only have a limited release later this summer.

No specific dates or the name for the beer release was announced.
