O’so Brewing $2 million expansion moves forward

STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point Common Council unanimously approved a development agreement for a 35,000-square-foot facility for O’so Brewing Company in the city’s East Park Commerce Center.

The agreement calls for the city to sell Big Thinker LLC, a company also owned by the owners of the brewery, 20 acres within the center for $1, provide a $500,000 grant for improvements to the site, and extend utilities to the site. Big Thinker would complete the project, valued at $2 million, within two years, and would be required to pay the city a minimum tax increment payment that would increase annually from 2020 to 2033.

The new facility will include a brewery, taproom, VIP area available for parties and meetings, and a barrel aging cellar. The grounds will boast an outdoor beer garden with a seasonal outdoor bar, and eventually a kickball diamond and disc golf course. Walking paths would be incorporated through a fruit orchard — which would provide fruit for specialty barrel aged beers — and a hops field.
