Forget the fancy parties and red carpets that keep Hollywood busy, Amy Schumer has better ways to spend her time.

The comic enjoyed a low-key Sunday visiting her father Gordon, who has multiple sclerosis, at his assisted living facility.

The two played a lively game of poker together, with Amy sharing a photo of the game captioned ‘Sharks’.

The two sat alongside a third player at the table in the home, with other residents pictured in the background.

Amy used her life as the inspiration for her film Trainwreck, and in so doing gave an insight into the experience of those living in assisted living – and the anxious worries of those who place them there.

But while her onscreen parent, played by Colin Quinn, passed away, in real life Amy enjoys a loving a close relationship with her father.

Gordon – a cousin of senator Chuck Schumer – was there in February when she tied the knot with chef Chris Fischer in a surprise wedding.

In 2016 Amy surprised her father with a memorable Christmas gift, when she bought back the family farm he lost to bankruptcy following his MS diagnosis.

Back in 2015 she talked about her dad’s illness, telling Barbara Walters: ‘Some days he’s really good and he’s with it and we’re joking around. And some days I go to visit my dad and it’s so painful. I can’t believe it.’
